Functional Training

A lot of  injuries are caused by the way we move.  Poor sitting and standing postures put huge stress on our body resulting in muscle pain, restricted range of motion and joint pain.  We can also move very poorly when exercising, leading to further stress.  Retraining the body to move as it is designed to is an effective way to reduce the risk of  injury.

Functional training helps build the strength, stability, power, mobility, endurance and flexibility that you need to maximise muscle and joint health as well as improving movement efficiency. You use basic fundamental movement patterns like pushing, pulling, hinging, squatting, rotating, carrying and  gait patterns (walking and running) every day. Functional training uses exercises that improve your movement proficiency in these primary patterns, giving you the edge and enhancing your performance so you can achieve your goals safely and with good health.
